End: Sjælør St. at 12:30

From Åmarken S-station we walk to “Bjerget” (=the mountain) in Kystagerparken. A planet-route starts here – we look at the first part of it and then turn into Valbyparken.  We visit some of the theme parks and the beach here. Continue to Tippen – the wildest place in the Copenhagen area. With sheeps, alpacas and mohair-goats. Then on to Karensminde aksen – part of Copenhagens plan for flood prevention but also a nice area for children and adults. The tour ends at Sjælør S-station.

Hike 2: Sunday 27th October 2024: from Rødovre Station to Avedøre Station

Start: Rødovre St. at 10:00

End: Avedøre St. at 14.00

Distance: 8 km

Tour Guide (English speaking): Pia Cederval Andersen

The hike:

We meet at Rødovre St. from where we go through Rebæk Søpark to get over to the forest “Brøndbyskoven”. Here in the young forest, we pass the “Dog forest”, some small waterholes and a varied urban forest.

We hit the old defense facility Vestvolden, cross above the highway and pass the village of Avedøre with street pond and old farms. From here we continue past the Quark Nature School, where we will water 3 heifers and greet goats, sheep, chickens and not least the multi-artist Thomas Dambo’s “Bakketop Trine”.

We continue via Voldgaden and the rampart until we reach Avedøre St.

Hike 3: Sunday 3rd November 2024: from Østerport St. through Copenhagen to Kgs. Nytorv.

Start: Østerport St. at 10:00

End: Kgs. Nytorv at 13:30

Distance: 10 km

Tour Guide (English speaking): Grethe Aagaard

The hike:

From Østerport St. the hike goes through Kastellet, one of Northern Europe’s finest and best-preserved fortifications, and on to Copenhagen’s waterfront past the Little Mermaid. We pass the royal family’s castle Amalienborg with a view of the Opera and the Marble Church.

The tour continues past Skuespilhuset, through the colorful Nyhavn and past Børsen and Christiansborg, where the Danish parliament resides. After a 15 min. break in the Library Gardens, the tour continues through some of Copenhagen’s fine parks.

Hike 4: Sunday 17th November 2024: A walk in Utterslev mose from Husum Station to Bispebjergs Station with extensions.

Start: Husum St. at 10:00

End: Bispebjerg St. at 14:00

Distance: 12 km

Tour Guide (English speaking): Kirsten Larsen

The hike:

We start at Husum S-station, pass along a bit of Vestvolden (part of an old fortification of Copenhagen), perhaps a view at Høje Gladsaxe Park and Tingbjerg. Then we pass on at Utterslev mose. We take a look at Grundtvigskirken, one of the most eye catching churches in Copenhagen, go through the Bispebjerg hospital area and end up at Bispebjerg S-station.

Bring your lunch or snack – we take a break along the way.
